Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Prep Time- 20 minutes | Cook Time- 25 minutes | Makes 4 Servings

Can be sauced any way you like! (Buffalo, BBQ, Garlic Parmesan, Ketchup, etc..)

Jaw-Droppingly Delicious! M.G. and I gobble- up these addicting Cauliflower Wings just about every week! The flavor options are Endless!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Small Head of Cauliflower
  • 1 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 2 Cups Bread Crumbs or Panko Crumbs
  • 1/4+ Cup Buffalo Sauce (I use Sweet Baby Rays brand)
  • ALTERNATIVES- Instead of Buffalo Sauce, try BBQ Sauce, or whatever else you would like to dip these wings in.

* See notes at the bottom for ingredient alternatives and other ideas!

Instructions:

1- Gather all ingredients and set the oven to 425°F (or about 218°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

2- Cut your cauliflower into bite sized pieces. I have tried larger pieces and smaller ones- I prefer the smaller ones but both work fine. You can use the stems as well as the florets!

3- In a large mixing bowl mix together the flour and the spices. Then add your milk and whisk it well so there are no lumps of flour. This should be a slightly thicker batter consistency, you don’t want so watery that it drips off the spoon. In a separate bowl add your bread crumbs or panko (alternatively, you can skip the breading step and just bake the battered cauliflower wings).

4- Add your cauliflower pieces to the batter and mix it up well so that all of the cauliflower is covered in batter. If there are a few spots without batter, this is fine.

5- Take a few battered pieces and placed them in your breading- toss to coat them completely and lay them out on your baking sheet, and continue breading more pieces. The wings can be set very close to one another on the baking sheet but should not touch. If you need more breading, add 1/2 Cup at a time to your breading bowl (or less) to prevent food waste.

6- Bake the wings for 25 minutes. Then take them out and let them sit for 5- 10 minutes so that they cool down a little.

7- Toss the wings in a large mixing bowl with about 1/4 Cup (more or less depending on preference) of Buffalo Sauce (or whatever sauce you choose today!)

NOTES:

OTHER ADD INS– Instead of Buffalo Sauce, you can try my Orange Ginger Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Honey Mustard, Ketchup, or literally any other sauce you can think of! Let me know what you try! You can also skip the breading steps and bake the battered cauliflower- the texture will be different but its still very tasty!
